Chiranjeevi protests against excess liqour shops in state

Chiranjeevi visited Srikalahasti temple and performed pooja along with his wife Mrs.Surekha.Addressing a meeting at Srikalahasti, Chiranjeevi alleged that the government was turning the poor and the downtrodden sections as slaves to liquor, in order to fill up the coffers. “You all know how we struggled to focus on the public issues in the assembly. But, the Congress government stifled our voice. This unfortunate thing forced me to come into the public for solution to the people’s issues.”He accused the government of handing over national resources such as mines and ports to private individuals and groups, causing a big dent to the governments, both centre and state. The officials too were interested in getting commissions from the private parties and mute to the public looting. He said the Congress government was not at all interested in the people’s issues. “The farmers, weavers and fishermen and other vocational communities were left in the lurch. The continuous neglect would one day force them to quit their professions,” he maintained.
